FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DIVINI-TEA | FAQ | Big green question mark

How do you brew jiaogulan?

Simply add 2.5 grams (one teaspoon) of tea to 1 liter of boiling water (ideally 150 degrees Fahrenheit or 65-70 degrees Celsius). Infuse for approximately 3 to 10 minutes (according to individual taste). People who prefer a stronger flavor can either use 3 to 3.5 grams per liter and/or steep for a longer time.

The jiaogulan can be steeped 2 to 3 times using the same leaves.

How long can we keep the tea?

Due to its dehydration process, Immortali-tea brand jiaogulan is a plant that stores very well and for a very long time (more than a year), as long as it is kept away from humidity and sunlight. Therefore, avoid direct exposure to the sun (for example, on a countertop). We recommend storing it in a cupboard and in a Mason-style jar where the tea can remain dry.

What are the residues at the bottom of my cup?

The deposit at the bottom of the container is organic soil dust present on the leaves (the leaves are harvested then dried without being washed to ensure preservation). Suggestion: You can wash the amount of leaves you plan to use in a strainer before steeping them.

How else can I use jiaogulan?

  • Immortali-tea is excellent as iced tea (cold infusion, or, if steeping hot, infuse a double dose of tea for the same amount of water and then pour it into a glass or pitcher filled with ice cubes).
  • Jiaogulan leaves, after infusion, can be used in soups and salads. The texture is similar to cooked spinach.
  • Jiaogulan leaves can be used to create your own homemade pesto (a little oil, garlic, nuts, and jiaogulan).

How can I modify the taste of jiaogulan?

The taste of jiaogulan, although exceptional, can be modified by adding:

  • star anise seeds
  • cardamom seeds
  • a dash (toothpick-sized amount) of essential oil depending on your taste (lemon, orange, etc.) in your cup.

**be careful not to add too much so as not to alter the taste**
